I met James Lucero at the Texas Wildlife Association (TWA) Annual Banquet in June of 2007.  During our travels across Texas – from tradeshows and banquets, to private ranches and passionate guides - we occasionally stumble upon a great product that we want to share with our audience. BOG-POD is one of those finds. Like most reviews we write, we spend a lot of time in the field testing these products in an effort to write an honest review based on our experience.

What is a BOG-POD?

BOG-POD is a shooting stabilizer that comes in three forms, as a tripod, a bipod or a monopod. Although shooting sticks are nothing new, BOG-POD has made great improvements in design and usability. It is light enough to carry in the field, flexible enough to adapt to different shooting environments, and easy to adjust for different size shooters. It is also easy to collapse and expand, and has rulers on each leg so you can put it back to where it was quickly without guessing and having to readjust.

Why should you consider buying a Bog-Pod?

Reason #1:
If you want to teach children how to shoot with good form, this is the best teaching aid we have come across. The Tripod Shooting Sticks give the forearm stability that most children don’t have the muscle strength to maintain, allowing the child to focus on learning proper technique.

Reason #2:
If you are a Hunting Guide and want to do everything you can to help your client, we highly recommend carrying a BOG-POD. Regardless of the client’s experience or health level, the tripod provides a steady rest when the moment comes.

Reason #3:
If you enjoy turkey hunting, pistol hunting, or any type of spot-and-stalk hunting, consider a BOG-POD. We found carrying the tripod model useful during aoudad, elk, turkey, axis, ram, and hog hunts. It can be used as a monopod, bipod or tripod. It folds up and is light weight. It makes a good gun rest to keep your gun off the ground in bad weather. It also makes a good camera rest or binocular rest when necessary.

Reason #4

In summary, I now keep a BOG-POD Tripod in my truck. Whether for yourself, or as a great tool to help others, I recommend you consider keeping one in your truck also.
