What a beautiful day to spend on the TC Bar Ranch in Dripping Springs, nothing but blue skies and sunshine. We were greeted by the always friendly Kirby Brown, Executive Director for Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.  Once we checked in, my 2 1/2 year old daughter was ready to roam.

There were horses, a trio of Easter dyed ducklings (pink, blue and green), a great creek to fish in, lots of beautiful trees, and a host of other fun events going on to keep us busy for the afternoon.

Once the rest of the TexasHuntFish crew arrived, we set off for the Wild Times Hay Ride.  Our guide took us around the ranch to check out some of the exotic animals roaming around.  We saw Axis, Oryx, a parade of Zebras and Elk.  It was such a beautiful ride and of course the animals were pretty incredible to watch.

Next we were off to the skins and skulls table, where adults and youth alike can try and guess what animal each skin and skull represent.  I did ok on the skins, but the skulls had me stumped.  It was pretty cool, they had a beaver pelt, bobcat, coyote, rabbit, skunk, raccoon, Javelina skull, skunk skull and several others.  Once we completed the "test" everyone received an informational book on Critters - bonus!

There was also Skeet/Trap shooting, fishing for all ages, skills trails, horseshoes, and a laser gun shooting game.  I'm not sure what this is, but my husband thought it was pretty cool.

After our tour of the ranch and fun in the sun, we sat down to a good old fashioned barbecue.  And what TWA event would be complete without a gun (among other things) giveaway?  It was great fun and seemed to be a very nice turn out, after all it was a membership drive for TWA.  We enjoyed talking to many members of the Texas Youth Hunting Program, Texas Parks and Wildlife, and Texas Wildlife Association.

Sounds like it was a great time!  Really shocking to see Brett Valdez at an event wearing a RAM Financial t-shirt too. ;)
