Roy Douglas and Shirley Ann Malonson newest venture and passion is Whitetail Deer Breeding. Working with Dr. James Kroll and drawing on the hard work of a select group of deer pioneers, they have developed a breeding plan like no other in the deer industry.

Our goal is to produce a line of deer, in which our bucks reach 220 typical inches at 2-1/2 years of age; and, break 260 typical as mature bucks. In order to accomplish this incredible goal, RS Deer Ranch has teamed up with a hand-picked group of longtime breeders, known for huge framed bucks. The group includes: Billy Powell, Tom Malouf, Fred Huebner,  Bill Grace, Leo Hicks, Kevin Grace, Mark Sipes, Dennis Kotzur, and Vernon Mosely. Heading up this team is Dr. James C. Kroll, Cofounder of the Texas Deer Association, father of artificial breeding in whitetails, and arguably the most knowledgeable whitetail scientist in the world!

Drawing on the hard work of this select group of deer pioneers, we have developed a breeding plan like no other in the deer industry. We started with hand-picked does as our foundation stock. Selection criteria were the most strict ever applied. Then, using natural and artificial breeding, Dr. Kroll and the team will combine the best traits of time-tested lines to achieve the most elusive prize in the deer industry– typical perfection! Although headed up by RS Deer Ranch, each cooperator will play a key role and share success from this monumental project.
