Texins Archery Club is a private non-profit club, and membership is available to the general public.
Club Background
Texins Archery Club (TAC) was originally created as an employee benefit for Texas Instruments and affiliates in the 1960's. In the late 90's, TI spun off its club organizations under the umbrela organization Texins Association as a 501-C non-profit club. The property is still owned by TI and the club enjoys a longterm lease.
Mission
Promote archery by increased exposure within the community.
We provide a convenient, interesting, safe, and economical place to shoot.
Our programs are designed to increase knowledge of the sport and improve individual skill. We offer opportunities for family involvement, youth development, organized competition, and hunting adventures. Ongoing events are scheduled to introduce the public to archery and hunter safety.
Benefits
Why pick our club? What makes it different?
We are focused on increasing membership benefits.
The convenient location is the first thing you notice, but we strive to have the GREATEST VARIETY of interesting shooting opportunities! Please tour the range photos for illustration of our: field archery range, wooded 3D animal course, practice/JOAD range, form wall, treestand/traditional area, Hunter's broadhead range, and FITA (Olympic) range, bowfishing range, moving targets, and creek safari...etc!
Besides encouraging a friendly family environment, we are your resource for what is going on in archery. We keep you informed of tournament competition opportunites, host the only area JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Development) outdoor program and Olympic FITA range. We sponsor the NASP (National Archery in Schools Program). Bowhunters will enjoy our broadhead and treestand ranges; and club organized hunting trips!
Our club excels in helping you explore archery. Our membership enjoys the diversity of Olympic Coach to nationally ranked NFAA and ASA shooters, and longbow champion. Feel assured you can get the instruction and mentoring you need regardless of your experience! Technical support starts with the Intro to Archery seminar, and continues with JOAD. Private lessons are also available from our instructors. We have our own bow tuning and equipment repair shop, but can recommend the best equipment suppliers to shop with.
There is much more, but you need to become a member to enjoy it!
Annual cost for 2010 new memberships is $120 for a family. The cost prorates at $10 per month.
