Why KASA?

Recreational and sit-on-top kayaking continues to be the largest and fastest-growing segment of the water sports industry, and for good reason. Anyone can do it -- the young, the elderly, persons with disabilities ... everyone. With a modicum of guidance from trained and knowledgeable instructors, newcomers to the sport can achieve a level of independence and safety that will allow them to explore and engage the environment around them in ways that power boaters and shore-bound anglers can only imagine.

Above all, KASA seeks to conserve the natural resources in and around our nation's public waters and to expand access to those natural resources. As Aldo Leopold, the father of modern wildlife conservation famously said: "We can be ethical only in relation to something we can see, feel, understand, love, or otherwise have faith in."
