SCI Austin has a mission to protect and preserve our hunting and fishing heritage through wildlife conservation, education, legislative, and humanitarian efforts.

The Austin Chapter of SCI applies this mission and values in a grassroots effort throughout central Texas. SCI Austin is making every effort to affect the community through membership outreach and sponsoring youth programs.

Safari Club International is the leader in protecting the freedom to hunt and in promoting wildlife conservation worldwide.

Below are a few of SCI's committments...

Providing value to members by shaping policies and legislation that protect the freedom to hunt locally, nationally, and internationally.

Keeping members informed regarding issues that impact hunting, while educating and entertaining members with engaging articles about the rich heritage of hunting in all forms of media.

Providing a worldwide community for hunters, where camaraderie is enjoyed and expert information is exchanged, and where members are able to participate in a market for quality hunting goods and services.

Promoting a positive image of hunters and portraying them as responsible citizens who fund wildlife conservation, education, and other programs which benefit the community.

They also have a touring mobile museum called The Sensory Safari, and also place Safari In A Box at local schools, and send local teachers to the American Wilderness Leadership School, which helps to teach those who educate our children on the role of hunting in our world.

This Club is a total joke! It is run by snobs that don't give a damn about their members. Board members are hand picked so that the "higher ups" may benifit. STAY AWAY! It's strange how donated hunts and money seem to dissapear, just like the executives when they go on the donated hunts.

This is so not true.  SCI Austin invites every member to join the board.  Please come check it out for yourself.  The Board meetings are open to the membership and are the first Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm.  They are currently being held at Texas Land and Cattle at 1101 South Mopac.  Check out the website at sciaustin.org to learn more about what we have done and our upcoming events.
