The Austin Woods and Waters Club is a (regional) social organization, committed to promoting hunting, fishing, and various outdoor activities, as well as preserving those opportunities for others.

AWWC is dedicated to "passing on the heritage" of the outdoors experience to younger generations and to the conservation of wildlife resources. The club activities emphasize effective game management, conservation, proper and ethical outdoor activities and, great fellowship while participating in these outdoor experiences. Members like to spend time hunting, fishing, and talking about hunting and fishing.

The AWWC also considers it a priority to introduce young people to the outdoors. They sponsor various youth activities such as kid fishing events, and they organize and conduct youth hunts under the support of the Texas Youth Hunting Program.

Each spring, AWWC holds one of two major social events of the year. This Spring event is called the Spring Family Picnic and Wild Game Cook Off and is open to all members and their families. Our fall event is the annual McBride Foundation Banquet, the purpose of which is to raise funds for the Clubs charitable entity.

Annually the Club honors one of its own members as a dedicated outdoors enthusiast (Sportsman of the Year) who has shown particular dedication to the ideals of the Club and its goals.
