Ike: I lived in LR for two years and really enjoyed it there. It will take a while but you'll find some good hunting down there. A lot of gamey country with a lot of hunters. Suggest you think about duck hunting. I used to go down near Tichner - the place is thick with ducks. p.s. Have been watching a lot of Deadwood on HBO. It is fantastic, but wondering how authentic it is. Any comments?

Concerning Deadwood, the show is pretty right on, it was pretty wild.  They did do a lot of cussing but I think the show goes over the top.

A bit of trivia.  Ike Brown was a local saloon and store owner in Deadwood 8-2-1876, the day Wild Bill was shot.  Ike followed Jack McCall up the street after he shot Bill, Ike clubed him down and locked him up in a cabin.  Since there was no law in Deadwood, because it was Indian land and the whites weren't suppose to be there, the miners decided to hold their own trial.  The judge feared for his life so he asked Ike to be the law over the trial.  That is how Ike Brown became the first Sheriff of Deadwood.  Not Seth Bullock.
