uh...yeah, what is your specific question? What are you targeting game wise, what kind of methods do you want to use?  Where do you live and how far do you want to drive?

If you're in Mineral Wells and dont mind driving 4 or 5 hours you might want to check out the Matador WMA north of Paducah in Northwest Texas.  Big hogs and some nice mulies too.

Allen, I want to setup a trip to Matador WMA for a quail hunt. Would you be interested in working it as a group hunt for the site. There were more quail killed on Matador WMA than any other WMA in Texas, over 4,000 quail shot by almost 700 hunters, not a bad success rate for quail in 2002. The quail population is having a banner year by all reports so I think this would be a fun 2 or 3 day hunt for late January.

Hey that sounds good to me.  It's a long ways up there from here.  I used to have a lease just south of there and one that was just north east of there.  The quail are huge too.  Not to mention you could probably hunt down a hog or two.  They're big as well.

Deer can be had on any of the Nat'l Forest or WMA land in E TX.  Crocket, Angelina, no reason to hunt Sam Houston if you don't have to, smaller tracts may be better, less pressure.  I know this isn't to specific, I'll write more this weekend, but I've got to be up to teal hunt in 5 hours!!!!

Tell us about that teal hunt....

Looks like we're going to put this one together Jim.  I know my brother would make it out too.

I haven't been after quail in a while and would like to.

Check the waterfowl section - I've got the last 4 or 5 hunts up there. Also - unpack that charger!

Great, I have not shot quail in about 10 years and will really be looking forward to the hunt. I need a couple of quail for mounts, I think they make the neatest bird mount. Oh, and they eat real good too.
