Just wondered how many people have heard of the Melanistic whitetail ?

From what I understand, they are found only in Hays County, Texas. I have heard of some up around west Lake Travis but have not seen proof of that. This is picture of one that I took Dec. 1st 2001. I am having it mounted lifesize.

A very nice looking deer, but this is the first time I've ever heard of them. I can't blame you on getting the animal mounted.
