We're hearing the same thing in Wheeler/Roberts Counties...  quality is definitely showing well this year.  Ready to get up there myself!

Took a friend from work up to help me do a little work on the ranch a couple of weeks ago. Being a bowhunter I let him set up on one of my feeders and he came back sick because he missed a great 160 10 point............Said it was the biggest buck he ever saw with a bow and the nerves got the best of him. Saw some dust flying from a coupe of good fights......Hope they don;t all go and break horns before gun season..........

I'd probably shank a bow shot at a 160 class too!  We had a bunch of bucks with broken tines last year, but I think the minerals in the rains this year will keep that to a minimum.  It's going to be a fun season up there for both whiteys and mulies!

My ranch is in Dickens county and I also hunt a ranch up in Donley and Gray counties.....Got a couple inches of rain on my wheat since the last trip.......Hopefully my mulies have grown up a little in Gray county.........Got to work a Vetrans Day parade here in San Marcos on Saturday but will hit the road up North soon after for a few days.......Looks like we may even get some cold weather...........The bucks usually start a little in early November to around Thanksgiving in the south plains and peak around the first week of December further up north..........Dang.....I think my neck is swelling a little!!!!!!!

Hey Randy sounds like your on the East Afton side of Dumont... Ever see any mulies come thru there? Shot one a little south of East Afton several years back behind a WT doe. Its looking like a good year for horns / the last two years they have been so brittle. Hopefully all the rain has cured that problem!!! I'm hunting just down the road from you in King & Cottle counties. Been tryn to put an arrow in this one...

Actually the road ends at my front gate in Dumont.....Had a small mulie hanging around town a couple of years ago and haven"t seen another one since.......Good mulies on the Pitchfork and a few on the Tongue River(borders me on 3 sides) and 6666"s. Know where the 7 Bar Ranch is? Got a couple inches of rain on my wheat about a week ago and should be really healthy by next weekend..........

Not sure where the 7 Bar Ranch is but I know where the road makes the big 90... Don't get to that side of town much... Ha Ha ! I hope Stephen got my wheat in last week after I left... Should be perfect for Thanksgiving hunt...
