DU hosting conservation evening in honor of state conservationists Ducks Unlimited will recognize five Texans for their individual conservation commitments in Austin, Texas May 1. The Texas Heroes of Conservation evening, including; cocktails, dinner, honors presentation and auction, will be held at the Renaissance Austin. A keynote address will be given by Carter Smith, Executive Director of Texas Parks and Wildlife. Event honorees include: Vernon Bevill – TPWD Small Game Program Director These honorees have made impressive contributions to conservation in Texas and elsewhere through their personal careers, philanthropic support of conservation organizations, efforts to educate the public about conservation, and through a lifetime of sharing their own passion for the outdoors with those around them. The evening will begin at 6 p.m. and is expected to end at 9:30 p.m. Tickets should be purchased before April 27, and prices are: $125 for single ticket and $235 for couples.
