Got this via email (and checked it out...Lamar!).  This actually happened, and frankly coinsidering the area its not surprising at all.

People in Schuylkill County, Pa have a warped sense of humor.

This is the pull off at SR 61 and Adamsdale Rd. A deer was hit there.  The couch was dumped there previously. On day two the deer was on the couch…by day three the end table and lamp showed up…by day four the TV and TV stand showed up.

The Trooper had to call PENN DOT  (Pennsylvania Dept of Transportation) because of all the people stopping to take pictures.

PAY CLOSE ATTENTION TO THE SIGN, which reads:

"Sorry Hunters.

Obama ruined healthcare.

We can't afford to have injured hunters on our conscience,

so I'm staying home!

Sorry,

the Deer."

Absolutely...while PA politics unfortunately revolve around Philly, Pittsburgh, and Scranton/Wiles Barre don't forget a good part of that state is as 'red' as they get.

Health care has not been ruined yet, what I would be more concerned with is the environement, that is going south in a bad way!!!

How specifically is it going south in a bad way?  Via global warming (aka climate change)?  Just trying to get where you're coming from.

I was a kid in the 60's and remember the color and odor of the air in Houston. The creeks and ditches were void of life, even most plant life. Here we are 40 years later and streams are teaming with fish. Rivers don't resemble the cestpools of 60s/70s. Tap water is 95-96% pure and has no lead in it. I see Bald eagles almost daily, catch more fish and get more deer in and on public lands that are burned to encourage new growth. Hunters and others actually help remove debris from these lands that were indiscriminant dumping grounds for others. Now, the only thing that is going the wrong way is we still do not really have the right to OWN property in Texas. We pay the state every year a tax on this "RIGHT" which the Supreme Court ruled is UNCONSTITUTIONAL to tax rights granted in the Constitution. Heck we should just have a poll tax again say of $25.00 per vote? This is the real problem habitat loss and why it is occuring.

GO CLIMB A TREE, TIM

Tim,

I remember those times as well.  Back in the '60s as a gradeschooler we were on the Potomac River having thousands of dead fish floating in it and a stench that would about knock you over.  In the late 70s it was still bad as almost the exact same thing was happening along Lake Erie...big fish kills and the smell that goes with it.  We saw instances of acid rain that killed acres and acres of trees near the factories that produced the pollution, and orange water coming from seeps near incorrectly reclaimed coal strip mines.  You just don't see that any more...the overall quality of the environment is much better than it used to be.

I was just trying to see what Gustavo was referring to.
