Well got back a couple of days on our second hunt and as expected the rut was really starting to run down.  The bucks were starting to regroup but still a few stragler does coming in and as expected were being sought by the older bucks.  Saw quite a few bucks and a few REALLY good bucks but could not get off shots(got to be quick)  Settled for this double brow tine ten point (with a broken G-2)  but a great trip.  Saw quite a few mulies again and hoping they will hang around the pasture for next season.  Happy Holidays to all..........

Hey there Randy... good lookin buck.  We had some pretty good success on our trip up there as well, so as soon as I can get pics up I will add them to this thread.  The big whiteys eluded us too, though we saw some great ones.  Did come away with one nice one (140ish).  Got 3 great muleys though.  Again, congrats!

Randy,

I hope that this pic loads.  I have had trouble getting it to load for awhile.  We did have good luck up in the Panhandle the week before Thanksgiving. I shot this buck out of a wheatfield, and we saw 12 different bucks in two days of hunting.  I rattled in three bucks for my buddy, but two of them came in downwind of us and we missed the opportunity, but the third one came in perfect.  Again, sorry if the pics don't post, but your advice was greatly appreciated. My buck wasn't huge, but he scored between 125 and 130 as an 8 pointer.

Since that pic loaded I thought I would go ahead and post a pic of huge shed that my buddies' uncle has hanging on his front porch.  He nearly ran over this thing several years ago when he was putting in his wheat fields.  No one ever saw this buck on the hoof.  It has to be a B&C buck for sure.

Monty Really nice and heavy eight......I got one last season about the same and did a euro mount and it came out really good. I also had one done for the one I shot this year(page 5 panhandle blog).....Wife says I can do another shoulder only if it is bigger than the one I have on my wall from the farm up in Dumont from several years back........Working on it every year!!!! Where bouts do you hunt?

We are north of Canadian near Glazier.  I went ahead and decided to put him on the wall. I've never shot one as heavy as him.  Wife said that it could be birthday and anniversary present. Working on mule deer for next year in the West Texas.  I have access to a good place, but am going to have to get started trying to get them to come to a feeder for next year.

I have access on a friends ranch south of Groom and this past year one of the larger pastures has been holding a few pretty good groups of mulies. Do not have a feeder in this particular pasture but considering it. Not for sure if they will use it? There is some wheat on the ranch across the back fence and I believe that is why they are hanging around in this particular pasture. Would like to keep them around for next season. Have hunted with a friend of mine from Canadian on his ranch for the past several years(pretty good football team!). Good choice for the wall!!

We are going to put two feeder pens with corn and hay feeders in two pastures.  Hopefully we can get them in.

You're right about the Wildcats football team.  They have a great program, coaches, and kids.  I coached in their district for 4 years and we never got close to beating them.
