I was wondering if anyone knew of any reduced addax or oryx hunts since they are no longer going to able to be hunted. Just curious, if the price is right I may could make a hunt during my annual trip to texas at Christmas time.

The dama gazelle, scimitar, and the addax have been put on a world wide endangered speicies list. this means they will no longer be able to be hunted even in the high fences in Texas where there are more of them than in their native lands. I talked to a guy and he said they could cross breed the sci. oryx with a gemsbok and keep selling those hybrids for hunting. but the others will be kinda like feeding an animal you can make a profit off of. I think it is less than 60 days until the official closing of hunting these animals, but i;m not sure

It is currently tied up in the courts again according to the EWA.  So its business as usual.  If they are officially placed on the Endangered Species list, they will require a CITES permit.  In order to qualify for the permit a ranch must have an established breeding herd of X number of males & X number of females.  I dont know what the exact numbers are.  Red Lechwe, Barashingha & Elds deer are on the list & you can harvest them w/the CITES permit.
