Need advice.....I'm new to this

I just started hunting last year and have 1 spike and 1 would have been 8 pt but the brow tines were broken.  I saw alot last year, but this year seems few and far between seeing anything at all.  I've seen a very small spike and 1 doe so far this entire season.  I've never rattled, but have been told you have to have someone there with you to do the "rattling" while I should be ready to shoot.  Can I rattle in a stand by myself? Any suggestions or tips anyone could throw my way?  Anything I can do to lure something in? I just want to see something!  (I hunt on our land in Eastland)

You can rattle by yourself, just might not be as successfull as w/ a partner. How long are you sitting on stand? Durring Bow season, and early to mid Nov, bucks are still in batchelor groups. I see more bucks from 9:30-12:00 than I do any other time. Cant tell you how many times I have been packing up to get down out of the treestand, and have the boys come waltzing in. Missed a good 10 point burring bow season at 11:30.

Thanks for the reply.....I'm sitting from about 5:30 to 9:30.  Then in the evening from about 3:30 to 6.

Agree.  Stay as long as possible.  I never had success with rattling until this year.  I rattle for 2 mins or so, then pick up my rifle/bow.  If nothing comes in, I do it again 15 minutes later.  The one I got this year came in fast, looking for a fight.

HAPPY

WOW....sounds a little intimidating, but exciting!  I'm going back out this weekend, so I'm anxious to try your suggestions.  I just hope my bladder can withstand the length of time you guys are telling me...LOL.  Again, thanks for any/all advice.  I appreciate it.  Hopefully I will see something worth shooting.
