Year-End Charitable Contribution Planning…please consider the non-profit charity Hunts for Heroes (H4H) (www.huntsforheroes.com) when planning your year- end, tax deductible, charitable contributions.  H4H took over 1000 wounded vets hunting and fishing at no cost to the vets in 2008.  They are dedicated to providing quality hunting and outdoor related activities to men and women that have been wounded on the field of battle in service to our country in the war against terrorism. They organize hunts with professional guides and outfitters throughout the country for heroes that enjoy the outdoors.  All of Hunts For Heroes adventures are free of charge for service men and women that are approved by organizations such as those sanctioned by the United States Military and they also help with expenses in getting to and from such an event.

LONG TERM GOALS: to hold events with heroes as the "stars of the show” to raise money for scholarships, grants and endowments.

EVERY SINGLE DOLLAR YOU DONATE GOES BACK TO THE VETERANS…Hunts For Heroes has no overhead costs and no administrative fees…the staff at H4H are farmers, ranchers and volunteer firefighters from small Texas town…and they provide these opportunities for our heroes for the RIGHT REASONS!!!

We drew the winner of the highly anticipated jeep raffle at the conclusion of our fishing tournament in San Leon and were very excited to read out the name, “Harold Hurst” as the brand new owner of our Critter Gitter Custom Hunting Jeep!  Harold was out of town for a few days and we were actually headed up to South Dakota the next week to film a wounded veteran pheasant hunt and thought it would be fun to surprise Harold with the news that he was the winner of the Jeep! 

Harold, the owner of Stedi-Stock (www.stedistock.com) is a Disabled Veteran of the Vietnam War who sacrificed time away from his family to selflessly serve our country during it’s time of need.  His selfless acts still continue to this day as he turned the tides on all of us by refusing the jeep and instead giving it back to Hunts For Heroes to raffle again so that we’re able to continue helping his brother’s in arms.  There wasn’t a dry eye around…this was a complete surprise and shock to all of us! 

Harold and his wife Deb have helped out more people than they will ever know with this act of kindness…their generosity will enable Hunts For Heroes’ Veteran Outdoors to continue to provide a platform for our country’s heroes to tell their stories in their own words and will allow us to continue taking these deserving veterans on adventures. 

From the bottom of our hearts…thank you Harold and Deb and may God continue to bless you both!

Robert Jakubas owns and operates the TopWater Grill located in San Leon, TX and he generously donated the use of TopWater, which has been closed since it was badly damaged by hurricane Ike, to serve as our home base during the 1st Annual Wounded on the Water fishing tournament.  Robert believes in what Veteran Outdoors stands for so much that on top of donating the space and beverages for the event, he also decided to purchase $100 worth of raffle tickets for the UV Country Kawasaki MULE.  Karma’s incredible…our certified weigh master drew Robert’s name out of the 623 tickets that were sold for the MULE making him the winner of the custom outfitted vehicle valued at over $20,000!!!

Robert has graciously offered Veteran Outdoors the TopWater Grill as home base to hold all future Wounded on the Water fishing tournaments and has also offered us the use of the MULE at anytime to help get wounded vets in and out of the field!
