My name is corey. Let me tell you a little bit about how this started. I have 4 boys and through the years I have always taken time to take them hunting. Every year they have friends that want to come along (most of them have never experienced hunting at all) the looks on the childrens faces when they take their first game animal, and the total change in their attitudes gives me more joy than any tournament i have won or any animal i have ever shot. As the years have gone by the parents of the children that I have taken hunting have come to me astonished at how the boys attitudes have changed in school and at home, and how much respect they give me.

So I thought man it would be nice if I could get the parents out on the hunt so the children would make the connection with them instead of just me. I thought that watching a child taking their first fish or game was the most  enjoyable thing for me but on the parent child hunt I learned that watching a child bond with his father on his first time hunt was truly amazing!

My boys are constantly recruiting new young hunters, most like I have said have never been hunting, and their families can not afford for them to hunt. The parents I have talked to about their children hunting say that they would love to get them hunting but either dont have the income, resources, or time to plan a trip. So I do all I can to get as many children as I can outdoors.

You guys are hunters like me so I don't have to tell you what getting these kids outdoors and teaching them respect for nature does for their soul.

Anyway here is my problem. I am running out of resources. At one time I had about 1200 acres that a very generous land owner let me use, but he has passed away and the land was sold to a man that wont let anyone hunt anymore. I have another little place but it is only a hundred acres and cant support a whole lot of hunting.

Through the years I have found that hog hunting is the best for children. I have a greater sucess rate with less prep time. Although I think hogs are best the children are not picky. they would love to hunt anything.

So here is what i need help with(I really do not like asking, I dont want to put anyone out but this is truly for the kids). If anyone has any land that they would allow kids to come out and hunt hogs or anything else on It would be greatly apreciated.

Just so you guys know this is truly for kids. there have been a few cases where the parent has taken game but only after the child has made a kill. And there were so many hogs that the landowner wanted us to kill as many as possible. I also want you guys to know that if you do have land to hunt It will not be flooded by a huge bunch of kids. I usually take two or three children (depending on their age and experience) on a parent child hunt I will take the parent and up to two of their children. These hunts are always supervised by me. I try to do a hunt atleast once a month. I do not ever charge for any hunt, I am trying to give back by getting children outdoors and teaching them respect for nature.

I could go on about this all night it is something I truly love doing.

thanks corey

Everyone...

I've known Corey for the last 17 years... and he is truly speaking from the heart.  I have been there with him and his boys since they could walk, while still in diapers. (what a mess)

Anyways... He and I have tried to take every opportunity possible to include our kids, their friends, and any others... in all of our hunting trips.  I have been blessed by a very close friend, who allows me to manage his land for him... plus, I get to hunt it.  As such, I have tried to include Corey and all the kids, when I could.  Since it is not my personal property, it is kind of hard to take more of them out... trust me, we really would like to.

I was fortunate enough to have some free time...which actually means - my schedule and Corey's were able to match up.  I invited him and his boys, plus a couple of their friends from school out to go pig hunting.  We had 6 teenage boys and my two girls(8 and 1)... it was a blast.  All of the boys had an opportunity to shoot at pigs.  Two of them actually where able to make good shots on a 150+lb boar and a 100+lb sow.  Not to mention... Corey was able to take, what looked like a monster in the scope, a very nice.... um.... piglet.

Most of all... the kids had a great time.  They still bug us when the next trip will be.  A couple have mentioned how they would like to bring a different friend so they can have some fun also.

Now, we have all heard about how Texas if over run with pigs.  But, seems some folks want to monopolize off the little terrorizer's of the land.  If they are a problem on your property... then please allow us the opportunity to bring some kids out to experience the hunt.

We do not need anything fancy.. just some access to land where the piggies are a problem.  We have and always will, leave the area we hunt, cleaner than we found it.  It is something we have always done and have taught the kids.  We do not necessarily need a place with lodging on it... most of the kids enjoy camping... and a good camp fire... specially around dinner time.

Thank you all for checking out the post.

Have a great hunting season...
