I can't wait to get back to the ranch and do some serious hunting, good cooking and a little partying South Texas style.  All season long the ranch manager and the owner have been busy completing the hunting lodge at "La Mota" ranch just east of Benavides TX.  The new hunting lodge will be equiped with two bedrooms that hold plenty of room for hunters to sleep, a full bar, classic Tejano Juke Box, and a pool table to pass the time.  All that is missing is the 50 in Plasma HD TV to watch the Dallas Cowboys or the Texas Longhorns football game.  The ranch is in good shape and recieved plenty of rainfall recently.  The food plots are doing well and the feeders are ready to attract the wildlife.  I will be chasing a trophy Wild Boar this year, plenty of them to go around.  Last year my father took a 350lb russian boar and another lease hunter took a 450lb hog.  Good news is the deer like to hang around this low fence paradise also.  I am also looking foward to the excellent cooking that takes place at camp with plenty of traditional ranch favorites (tripas, chicharones, barbacoa, etc..) .There are always one or two "old timers" that enjoy volunteering their time to please hungry hunters as they make there way back from the hunting blinds.  This year is extra special, I will be doing one or two son, father, grandfather hunts to help get my 10 year old son his first deer or wild pig.  He is anxious to put his new .243 riffle to the test.  I hope everyones camp time if fun and exciting for all to enjoy!!! Good luck fellow hunters and if that big buck eludes you, enjoy the time you spend at camp with the fellow hunters!!!
