These are from the first setting of the new Reconx RC 55 camera.

I love the widescreen view and image quality.  I set the camera a little close and have since moved it back, but I am impressed.

Thank you David and Bucks of Tecomate for sharing these with me.  Reconx is the new trail cam sponsor of the Bucks of Tecomate Television series.

I've attached two IR and two daylight photos, and will post more as I get my distance from target figured out.

Let me know what you guys think.

Nevermind on the price Hardy...  I searched and found it...  $550.

No doubt the price is steep Dean.  And I agree with your comment on Facebook that it would be difficult to justify outfitting an entire property with them.  Not sure this quality is necessary just to blanket or census a place, but I'll still keep a couple around.  There are places and times when I really need to see farther and clearer that what the cheaper cameras are capable of doing.

I like the fact that they're made here and serviced here as well.  Again, probably one of the main reasons that they cost what they do, but I can tell you that if this thing is reliable I'm pretty happy.

I have gotten disgusted lately with alot of the other cameras and how undependable they are.  Whether it's the parts from overseas or whatever, they just don't hold up.  I even had one company that will remain nameless that sent me 3 cameras, and only 1 worked out of the frigging package!  How in the hell do these people stay in business?  Oh and the one that worked...it has since died and been cast into the fire at my dump.

So while I'm not sure that you'll want to run out and buy a dozen, if they last (and only time will tell) the cost may actually be much better than it initially appears.  After all, the 3 dead ones from a year ago aren't taking any pictures and the cost of them would exceed the cost of one of these.

I think it is definitely worth having a couple around.  You can move them from place to place for about a week at a time.  I haven't utilized game cams up to this point due to the fact that I couldn't find anything where cost and dependability matched up.  I think I will have to try out a couple of these and see how they work.

I am using the bushnell trophy cam and it has been working great!!  Per advertisment runs off 8 double "A" batteries for 6 months....I have only had it out for about a month though.  So far, so good.  Got over 1200 pics in two weeks and still has a lot of battery left.  Cost was $199.
