Does anyone hunt north of Brady Tx close to the river or on the river.I am interested in two leases up there one is on hwy 283 and the other is on hwy 377

I have never hunted in that part of the country and am looking for info on how big the deer are there...horn and body size, if there is a lot of deer in the area and if there is hogs....any other info would be great also...
Thanks in advance,

I have not hunted right in the area you're talking about, but have driven through there during deer season between Santa Ana and Brady on highway 283 for the last 10 years.  From the highway it appears there are a number of high fence places around the river area.  But, I can also tell you in that time we've seen some very nice, big-bodied deer outside of the high fence ranches, especially south of the river.  I wouldn't say a lot of deer, but we almost always seem to see some.  One 10 point we saw down there was probably the largest deer I've ever seen on the hoof rack-wise.  Likely a booner.

Haven't seen any hogs there though.

Lived and hunted in Brady most of my life, There are allot of deer in the area. Horn and body size are good, and the hogs it just depends on the place. Thankfully we don't have any, but there are places around that are eat up with'em.  Great lil town, and hunting is good too. Good luck.

that's a good area, my boss hunts just east of Brady

seen lots of game cam pix on his PC

turkey, hogs, deer, plenty of em

and he's on 350 acres, not a huge high fence operation
