We carried Father's Day on into this week here at the ranch.  Had good friends John and Jim Carey at Campos Viejos for son Jim's first ever big game hunt with a rifle (he has already scored a whitetail in Illinois with his shotgun).  We had a great time on our Summer Exotic Safari, had a very successful hunt and made memories that will last for the rest of our lives.

Jim was first up and took an outstanding Blackbuck on the west end of the ranch.  Jim (who is 10) made a great shot at 155 yards.  It was a shoot now or watch him get away moment as the buck was leaving the sendero and Jim put the smackdown on him.

Next was Jim's Dad John on  the trigger and he took his beautiful Axis buck at around 90 yards, making a great high shoulder shot.

We travelled to a new ranch that we hope to do more hunting on in the future the following day and Jim struck first with his Scimitar Oryx at 132 yards.  Another fine shot, if it did nothing else it made his guide (yours truly) extremely happy because the 350+lb. animal fell very close to a road.  Nothing says a happy guide like no trackin' and draggin'.

On the last hunt John got his crosshairs on a fantastic Mouflan Ram.  It was just this old boy's time and John let the 7 mag. bark at just over 200 yards.  Another great shot and a 4th great trophy to put the finishing touch on an awesome hunt.

A few tilapia from the pond and some challenging pool (JIM!!!) to top it all off.

Thank you so much to John and Jim for having some summer fun with us this year.  Great hunt guys!
