Texas -

Richard Louv, author of "Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder," will reflect on his international movement concerning the future relationship between children, nature and the importance of the outdoors on Friday, June 26, at Noon in the Hill Country Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa during the Texas Wildlife Association Foundation (TWAF) Luncheon. Separate registration is required to attend the TWAF Luncheon. A TWAF Luncheon invitation and reply card are available. To register, click here.

Louv's book is the first book to bring together the growing body of research indicating that direct exposure to nature is essential for the health of children and adults. "Last Child in the Woods: Saving Our Children From Nature-Deficit Disorder" is hailed as "an absolute must-read" by the Boston Globe and "too tantalizing to ignore" by Audubon magazine. "Last Child in the Woods" is truly an inspiring work that proves children need nature as much as nature needs children.

Louv will sign copies of his book following his presentation. Books may be purchased from TWA in advance of the event by contacting our TWA office at 800-839-9453.

"TWAF is dedicated to ensuring a legacy of conversation and the heritage of hunting through education. We feel Mr. Louv's research and findings indicating that exposure to nature is essential for the health of children and adults will be of great value to TWAF and our efforts," notes Charles Davidson, TWAF President.

Additional luncheon details:
   * Doors open at 11:30 a.m.
   * Tickets are $150 each.

Proceeds from the TWAF Luncheon will be used by to support youth education efforts, to improve natural resource literacy, and to support conservation initiatives.
