Celebrated outdoors journalist and author Richard Louv will reflect on his international movement concerning the future relationship between children, nature and the importance of the outdoors, during his special presentation on Friday, June 26, at the Texas Wildlife Association Foundation (TWAF) Luncheon, held in conjunction with WildLife 2009 in San Antonio. In 2008, he was awarded the Audubon Medal by the National Audubon Society. Richard has written for The New York Times, The Washington Post, and many other newspapers and magazines. He has appeared on the "CBS Morning Show," "Good Morning America," the "Today Show," "CBS Evening News," "NBC Nightly News," NPR's "Talk of the Nation," and many other programs. WildLife 2009 is the Texas Wildlife Association's 24th annual convention, equipped with actives for the entire family. This family fun event is traditionally held in San Antonio at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort and Spa. WildLife 2009 attracts wildlife enthusiasts from across the state to enjoy a wide range of activities such as wildlife seminars, presentations, banquets, outdoor fun and wildlife contests for the kids, and exhibitors showcasing the latest in outdoor equipment, farm and ranch real estate, vehicles, and a premier silent and grand auction. The registration fee for children under 18 years of age is FREE.
