Texas -

The Texas Wildlife Association is providing input and expertise to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department in the rewrite of the agency's 2005 Land and Water Resources Conservation and Recreation Plan (Land and Water Plan).

TWA participated in a meeting today in Austin at TPWD headquarters as part of the project.

The Land and Water Plan is a TPWD strategic planning document to guide the Department in fulfilling its designated mission, which is: "to manage and conserve the natural and cultural resources of Texas and to provide hunting, fishing and outdoor recreation opportunities for the use and enjoyment of present and future generations."

Regional Conservation and Recreation Forums will be hosted across state to solicit input from stakeholders. The forums are being developed generally along watershed boundaries. TWA representatives will participate in as many of the forums as possible to provide input in the rewriting of the 2005 Land and Water Plan. For more information, please contact TWA Vice President of Public Policy Kirby Brown.
