Please be advised that the National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) has notified the National Association of Firearms Retailers (NAFR) that NICS has been temporarily out of service since 10 a.m. This was an unplanned outage. NICS said the service is to be back online and able to process background checks by 6:00 p.m. E.S.T. This outage is affecting all FFL holders, including those that operate in Point of Contact (POC) states.
