Bass Pro Shops launched a new Hunting and Shooting Sports Heritage Trust program in its ongoing efforts to further enhance the future of the hunting and shooting sports in America. The promotion will run through September 1, 2002, in the Springfield and St. Charles, Missouri, stores, with the proceeds dedicated to the Hunting & Shooting Sports Heritage Trust. At check-out, Bass Pro’s customers will be invited to enter a drawing and “Buck Up for the Hunting & Shooting Sports” by contributing $1. The drawing features two Doug Turnbull Restorations restored Winchester 1886 .45/70 rifles. Also offered is a 3-day 2-night stay at Big Cedar Lodge donated by Bass Pro.

"Our company has a long and on-going commitment to our country's great tradition of hunting and the shooting sports as well as the conservation programs that they help support.

We are extremely proud to be a part of this one-of-a-kind fund raising effort in our home state of Missouri," said Doug Lyman , vice president of marketing, Bass Pro Shops. The proceeds will be presented to the Hunting & Shooting Sports Heritage Trust during the inaugural “Shooting For the Future” event at Grant’s Farm in St. Louis, Mo. For more information about the “Buck Up for the Shooting Sports” program or the Grant’s Farm “Shooting For the Future” event, contact Mike Benecke at mbenecke1@aol.com or 314-707-7701.

The Hunting & Shooting Sports Heritage Trust is a non-profit charitable organization that is dedicated to protecting and promoting our hunting and shooting traditions and firearms freedoms.
