There are alot of members on here, and I hope everyone participates in this post, as I believe we will all find this interesting reading.
What weapons do you use, and which one do you use predomenently? Are you predomently a rifle shooter, a bowhunter? shotgunner? Handgun shooter? Why do you choose that weapon as your favorite?

I shoot an Remington 870 express mag. I'm from OH origianlly and we can't hunt rifle hunt deer there. My 870 was the second gun i got and i love it. I have bought a lot of other guns since but i love it. I know most ppl like auto for waterfowl hunting but i prefer my 870. I would like to get an 870 express supermag though so i can shoot 3 1/2 in shells. I alos like my 270. I got a 17 for my birthday last year and it is def. a fun little gun. right now i have a fred bear bow but hope to be getting a new Hoyt or that new tech hunter elite exclusive to Gander Mt.

My main rifle now is a Remington Sendero 7mm Mag w/ a little custom work. But I still enjoy shooting my old pre-64 Winchester .30/06.
As far as shotguns, when I was 9 my father gave me an Ithaca 500 over/under 20 Ga. I've shouldered everything from Brownings to Merkels since and I always go back. I finally wore that little gun out last season and was lucky enough to find another one in near new condition. It doesn't have interchangable chokes or anything like that...just modified over IC, but what a great gun for dove and quail down here. When I have to step up to 12 for ducks/geese, it's either my Benelli (turkey gun), or Merkel over/under.
As a photographer, I can certainly appreciate bowhunting and I know that if I started, I'd be hooked. But as of now, I do not own a bow.

My rifle I prefer to use for deer is a Colt Light Rifle chambered in 270 Win. with a 4x bushnell sportveiw scope (vintage 70's).
For a varmit rifle I have a Remmington 788 in 222 Rem. with a Bsa CatsEye scope or I also have a Yugo SKS with an after market stock (this SKS is unusually accurate)
For a squirrel rifle I have several .22 lr's but the top Two I like the most are my Grandpaws Remmington TargetMaster, and I have an old army training rifle with peep sights and a bull barrel.
My prefered shotgun is my Mossberg 500A in 12 gauge using a full choke, I just added a Hi Viz Flame shot gun sight to it and can't wait to try it out.
Now the weapon I most like to shoot and hunt with is my Reflex Gamegetter with the Slam and 1/2 cams set at 70lbs (actually the limb screws are set all the way in so I am assuming that it is 70lbs as it is a 65-70lb bow)
For bow fishing I have a 50# PSE KingFisher with a first generation Zebco Rhino, which was made in the USA (for those that wonder where Zebco got its name is short for Zero Hour Bomb Company).
For Bass fishing I have a Abu Garcia reel and pole, catfishing I use a deep see pole with a Penn Reel, and for panfish I have a Dawia Shock Ultra light rod.

For deer I use primarily a Remington Model 700 BDL in 30.06 and topped with a variable Bushnell scope.
My favorite handgun is the Glock in .40 cal -- not any hunting with it, mind you, but when carrying a weapon for protection it fits the bill perfectly. Ultra reliable, simple, and effective when chambered in a large enough calibre.
But hands-down my favorite hunting/shooting is with a shotgun. Just started hunting birds a couple of years ago and absolutely became addicted fast. In those couple of years I have acquired four shotguns and like different things about each of them. For upland birds I like a double barrel; for dove and waterfowl I like a semi-auto. I also have an 870 Express Super Mag that is a great field gun, and I have a nice little 20 gauge SxS that I am looking forward to using on some quail this winter. My overall favorite is probably my new Beretta O/U in 12 gauge, but the Xtrema is a way fun gun, too. Glad I can't own just one!

I am a simple man, I have one rifle for al my personal hunting needs. It is a Remington model 700 chambered in .270 Win. topped with a 3x10-44 Simmons scope on top. I have had the trigger worked so it is at about 3 pounds.
For a shotgun I have a 12 GA.Winchester model 1200 pump. It has a 32 in. barrel I think. It is much longer than most shotguns and will just barely fit in my case. It has a full choke to reach out and touch something. It is listed as a "3" Magnum" but will of course shoot 2 3/4" shells too.
For a handgun, I'm still trying to decideon a new one.
I have many various rods and reels for different fishing but most of my reels are Shimano's. I have a Pen 209 levelwind with a 6 foot surf rod for some of the bigger fish off the jetty's and in the surf.
Sorry, I currently don't "fling sticks" at any critters yet but maybe one day.

I have been using a Ruger mod.77 in .243 for the last couple of years for most of my deer hunting. I occasionally take one of my other rifles just to keep the dust off them. But this year is going to be special. My father gave me, for my birthday, the Remington Mohawk 600 that I grew up using. It is the gun that I took my first deer with. I wasn't expecting it he just took me out in the garage and handed me a gun case. I don't think he expected the reaction he got, I was almost in tears. This gun means alot to me and I can't wait to take another deer with it.
For my bird hunting, I just steped down from a 870 express 12ga. to a 870 express 20ga. My shoulder just doesn't take a hit like it used to.
Guns don't kill people....Its those pesky little bullets making lots of holes that all the blood leaks out of.

Where to start? It all depends on what I'm doing at the time:
Deer favorite is Remington 700ADL in 30-06 with weaver 4x scope.
Deer second is a Remington 700BDL in 6mm with redfield 2x7 scope.
Deer bow is a Buckmasters by Jennings hyper-tech at 70lbs.
Duck, dove, quail, anything that flies Remington 870 exprees 28" w/ multiple chokes. I wore-out my mossberg 500A.
Rabbit, squirrel, plinking etc. Savage and Stevens model 87D. I also have an old Marlin model 60 I purchased at Glenn Slade's in the Houston Galleria for $36.00 when it was brand new.
Carry: For the bad guys, Colt Combat Comander 45 auto series 70 w/ satin nickel finish.
This was easier than my fishing list.

Well I do have an awlful lot of guns. I think one of the reasons is when most people my age will spend their money on tattoos or alchohal and stuff like that I tend to try to spend it on things I can have fun with. Now I got a lot of them from my dad, he really likes antiques espeacially civil war era items, but he often will pick up more modern guns in trade and I usaully buy them off of him if I can afford it.
I also inhereted all of my grandfarthers guns when he passed away in 2000. I don't use most of them mostly because I dont want to mess them up but he had a 1903 sporterized Springfield 30-06 and a remmington wingmaster 12ga.
My freinds think its funny and refer to it as my arsenal. And they also say I am a lot like Dale from King of the Hill.

Deer - Viking Terminator custom made bow at 72 lbs., or my good old Winchester 94 30-30 with a 4x scope.
Dove - just put away my Smith & Wesson model 1000 (original) and bought a CZ Redhead in a 28" 12 gauge. Sometimes I shoot my 50+ year old 16 gauge Remington 870 Wingmaster. Shoots just like it's brand new.
Plinking is with my Ruger 10-22 or my High Standard Double Nine.

I use a Stacey compound bow currently set at +/- 58# and I think my draw length is somewhere around 29"
Don't have any high powered rifles, alls I got is a Remington .22LR from the 70's.
Any suggestions for a affordable yet good deer hunting/larger game rifle? I've been looking at the following calibres:
.243
30-06
.308
