Well, it won't be long before I can go to my friend's farm to do some off season hog hunting. I can't go during deer season, but as soon as deer season is over, he lets me hit the woods as much as I want, for FREE! Yes, he knows there's a hog problem and doesn't charge me. I just can't see paying money to hunt something that's considered a problem. I guess if the land owner charges for hog hunting, then the land owner obviously doesn't have a hog problem. Don't get me completely wrong though. I take care of his place when I'm there. No trash, no ruts, etc. That makes a big difference. I would probably charge if someone came in to hunt and tore the place up.

Congratulations,

I've lived in Texas for just under 20 years and have never had a shot at a hog.  It's not that I wouldn't pay to shoot a hog, I simply cannot afford anything on my budget that doesn't get me from paycheck to paycheck now.

My 15 year old and I spend about 20 weekends a year trying to get hogs off public land because as you described, landowners complain that the hogs are destroying their land until you ask if you can hunt one and then it's "How much are you willing to pay me?"

The state complains also especially in the Caddo Grasslands, but when you want to hunt them 1) you can't hunt at night, 2) you have to where orange, 3) you can't bait them, 4) you can't use dogs.  Basically if you stumble on one, it's OK to shoot it but we won't let you do anything logical to hunt them.

I'm getting ready to start next weekend hunting the Corp of Engineer lands to see if I can have any better luck with spot and stalk since it is the only legal way to hunt them.

Looking to book a boar / feral pig hunt. From what I understand these are considered nusiance animals. Call me the cleaner:) I would like to find a ranch/farm who wants some pigs hunted down. Not sure about season, fees for license or anything else but if you don't mind, I'll grab a few respectful, responsible pals and we'll take them off your land/hands.

We live in MN and will drive down, camp or or hotel/motel. We can even feed ourselves, just point us to the pasture or whatever! email me or visit my website to contact me http://www.michaelrswan.com

BTW, if you have a ranch and want to do a trade for marketing / website design services, I'll do you right. I'm a pro. Last one I did is http://www.goiwx.com - check the quality! Thanks in advance!!
