Palmetto Guide Service is a full time professional outfitter specializing in freshwater fishing and waterfowl hunting.   Palmetto Guide Service offers mallard, wood duck and teal hunting on the Trinity River bottoms and Navasota River bottoms. We offer Snow goose and pintail  hunting on the Katy Prairie region southwest of Houston.

The Trinity and Navasota river bottoms and Katy Prairie, Texas are  in the heart of the central flyway and annually winter one of the largest waterfowl populations in The USA.  We hunt a large variety of puddle ducks, diving ducks and geese.

Duck Hunts

Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Licensed Professional Guide Service Serving East Texas and the Katy Prairie.  Mallards, Wood Ducks, Teal, Pintails, and a variety of puddle ducks are common to the Trinity River and Navasota River bottoms.   Occasionally a goose or a diving duck is taken.   We concentrate our Mallard and Wood Duck hunts in the flooded timber, ox bows and flats off of the Trinity River and Navasota River bottoms, near Huntsville, a short drive north of Houston.  River hunts are all boat accessed on public property.

We have access to thousands of acres of private property on the Katy Prairie region southwest of Houston where the duck hunting is best known for Pintails, Teal, Widgeons and Gadwalls.

We specialize in small groups, generally no more than 3 persons per guide, with a 2 person minimum required.  Larger groups can be accommodated.

All hunts include: Professional Guide, Trained Retriever, Pre-set blind, natural blind, or boat blind, decoys. All hunts are guaranteed pre-scouted hunt area.

Goose Hunts

Licensed professional guide service, serving East Texas and the Katy Prairie.  Palmetto Guide Service offers fully guided goose hunts on the Katy Prairie region, southwest of Houston.   Millions of Snow, Ross, White Fronted, and Canada geese winter here annually. We have access to thousands of acres of private property including rice, corn-stubble, rye grass, and flooded roosts, with no over-crowding or excessive hunting pressure.

All hunts are professionally guided and pre-scouted, generally with 2 guides to help with decoys and equipment.  We use ATV's Trailer and 4x4 vehicle as needed to get to prime spots.  We use a variety of decoys as conditions dictate, including wind socks, kites, flyers, shells and motion decoys.    We generally set 250 - 800 decoys or more depending on conditions.  We also are known to be on the cutting edge of decoy and blind research/technology.   Also, we are not afraid to use a few tricks.

Goose Hunts Include an Experienced Guide, 4x4 trucks, ATV and Trailers, Trained Retriever and Decoys.
