Overview:

Captain Bill “Z” is a Licensed Coast Guard Captain fully insured. He holds an OUPV and Master Inland License. Bill is also a member of the Coastal Bend Guides Association and is in accordance with all DOT/USCG rules and regulations. In addition Captain Bill is a Certified Captain/Guide and member of the International Game Fish Association. Bill practices catch and release of trophy fish to preserve the natural fisheries of the Texas Coast.

Come aboard a 2008 Bay Ranger that's safe and comfortable and fish for Speckled Trout, Redfish and Drum. Drift, power troll, wade or fish the surf weather permiting with artificial or live bait.  It is fully stocked with Shimano reels and Texas Tackle rods. Again your personal tackle is welcomed.  You will be furnished with both open faced spinning and bait casting tackle should you request.

For sight casting with a Fly come aboard a 17 ft Hells Bay Professional. A carbon Kevlar hull that truly fishes skinny water quietly. Let Captain Bill pole you into the backcountry and flats of the Texas Coast.  The Hells Bay is fully equipped with Orvis Fly rods and reels. In addition a full complement of fly patterns. You are also encouraged to bring your personal tackle. It’s all about what works for you and what you feel comfortable with. A 9 wt works well all round however a 6 wt will work depending on the fly and wind condition’s. At times it is possible to spotfish only accessible by wading. We will only wade if you are equipped with stingray boots. (No exceptions please). The Hells Bay is limited to 2 anglers.

Personal items:
You should bring your lunch and drinks. Ice will be supplied. Waterproof sunscreen with a SPF of 30 is recommended and 45 SPF is common. Light weight clothing, long sleeve shirts and pants. Boat shoes and no black soled shoes Please! Your lucky fishing hat or a large brimmed hat and polarized sunglasses.


Note: Both the Ranger and Hells Bay are equipped with built in coolers. Please bring your lunch and drinks in a bag. Sufficient ice will be supplied. Your fish will be cleaned and packaged at the end of your trip.
