Overview:

Welcome to Sandy Oaks Ranch! We are a private Texas style Lodge, Wingshooting, Sporting Clays and Entertainment Facility, among the large live oaks of Medina County. Our pavilion areas are available for Weddings, Corporate and Family Retreats, Parties, and Reunions. We also offer overnight accommodations. Our Lodge Pavilion is available for large or small events, customized to your personal needs. Our Shooting Pavilion is available for 5-Stand, Sporting Clays, Box Bird and Columbaire, Helice and Ball Trap.

Sandy Oaks Ranch is located 35 miles south of San Antonio on Interstate 35. Named to depict its beautiful terrain, we are situated in the Sarita-Wilco sands, which have long been known to produce some of the best quail hunting in Texas.

Along with an abundance of live oak trees and picturesque scenery we offer a unique hunting experience. Wingshooters can enjoy authentic quail hunts, hunting early release bobwhite quail, native wild quail as well as white-winged and mourning doves. The land has been managed to produce excellent quail habitat. Our sandy soil naturally produces preferred feed for quail and dove. Quail hunting will be guided by owner, Foard Houston and other professional guides. All guides are very experienced upland bird hunters and dog handlers.

Fly fishing trips are available, and are also guided by Foard Houston. Enjoy fly fishing for large mouth bass in south Texas or sight casting for redfish and trout on the Gulf Coast.

The Texas style cabins, nestled among large live oak trees, offer relaxation for guests. There are five guest rooms, each with a private bathroom. We can accommadate twelve to sixteen overnight guests. Enjoy socializing in the outdoor pavilion area with fireplace, bar, pool or the indoor comforts of the main lodge. We offer casual dining with gourmet country style cuisine in a relaxed, hospitable atmosphere.

Sandy Oaks Ranch is approximately a 30 minute drive from "The Alamo City", where you can enjoy all that San Antonio and the famous River Walk have to offer. We provide transportation to and from the San Antonio International Airport.

WINGSHOOTING

Wild Quail

 Full day hunt with lodging includes:

  • 3 meals and lodging, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, guide and dogs
    state limit per man (cleaned and packed)
    $1,100 to $1,600 per person*

    * hunts on private ranches, prices vary according to quantity and quality

 Quail

Full day hunt with lodging includes:

  • 3 meals and lodging, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, guide and dogs
    unlimited birds (cleaned and packed)
    $1,100 per person

 Half-day hunt, AM or PM without lodging includes:

  • 1 meal (lunch or dinner), guide and dogs
    unlimited birds (cleaned and packed)
    $600 per person

 Dove

  • Day Dove Hunts are $100.00 per person
  • Day Dove Hunts with cocktails and dinner at the lodge are $150.00 per person (minimum group of 20)
  • Overnight Dove groups are $650.00 per person and include 3 days, 2 nights lodging, meals, beverages (BYOB) and guide with a 10 person minimum

 Upon booking, half deposit is required. All deposits are nonrefundable. A signed liability release form is required upon arrival to the ranch. We accept cash, cashier's checks, company and personal checks. We follow all state and federal hunting and fishing regulations. Bring hunting or fishing license. Quail hunters bring blaze orange vest and hat. Let us know in advance if you wish to bring your own dogs.
