Port Aransas, the Saltwater Fishing Capital of Texas, is located at the northern tip of Mustang Island, one of the barrier islands along the Central Texas Coast across from Corpus Christi Bay. Mustang Island, which is named for the wild horses that once roamed the island, is an 18-mile stretch of clean, sandy beach which opens up to the sprawling Gulf of Mexico, a unique body of water and certainly one of the richest in deep sea fishing opportunities in the entire world.
