Another great opportunity for you.  We can offer you a 5 day bare bones hunt on a great hunting property between Big Lake and Rankin.  You can harvest your choice of 1 whitetail buck or 1 mule deer buck, plus a doe, on a property that has a high number of both deer species.  The mule deer season runs from November 28 through December 13, and whitetail season from November 7 through January 3.

You have your choice of either camping out at a location with electric and water hookups, or staying at motel in Big Lake, approximately 30 minutes away.  Price is $1,950, or if you have a group of 4 or more, we will provide a $200 per hunter discount.  Call us if you want to discuss further details.
Our guides are reporting sightings of deer quality here in the San Angelo area that indicates antler quality is looking great.  Our helicopter surveys reveal that as well.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

We still have various whitetail hunts available.  We have several openings on our Foster Ranch, 2 spots on our O Cross, a few spots on our Yturria (La Joya) Ranch, as well as a couple of trophy hunts available on our Oxbow, where guides have seen several 180"+ type bucks over the last few days.  Give us a call to discuss details and options.  Put together a group on the Foster Ranch and we may sweeten up the pot for you.

Wildlife Systems, Inc. - Exotics

Area: Tom Green

Preferred Customer: Any

Amenities / Additional Info: Shelter on Property

Additional Information

Overview:

Texas has long been known for its hunting opportunities of exotic game species. The terrain and climate here in the Lone Star State provides a suitable habitat for various species of ungulates from Asia, Europe, Africa, and India. In many cases, the populations of these introduced exotics in Texas out number their native origin.

WSI conducts exotic hunting in Texas on several properties, and we do have access to a good variety of exotic game, especially some of the more popular species. Some of these Texas exotics include blackbuck antelope, axis deer, fallow deer, sika deer, red stag, mouflon sheep, red sheep, Corsican sheep, aoudad sheep, and scimitar-horned oryx.

Our recent helicopter surveys on H. Yturria Ranches indicated that our nilgai antelope populations are higher than ever.  Between the 3 divisions of Yturria Ranch properties, we have a population of nilgai antelope that is perhaps as many as 3,000 antelope!  Our camps feature private chalets with a façade similar to many African safari camps.  This is a 2.5 day, 3 night hunt which includes your guide, lodging, game care, and meals prepared by our resident chef.  Most of these hunts are scheduled in late September, early October, as well as January through April.  This is a great option for a corporate type hunt, and is also well suited for something a bit more private, such as a husband and wife weekend get-away.  Give us a call to discuss availability.

Texas exotic hunting can be done year around, but some species have better hunting at some times of the year than others. As a rule, the best time to plan hunts for antlered deer species is from September through January, but axis deer best hunting is from late May through September. All horned exotic hunting which include sheep and antelope species can be hunted year around.

Game available: Exotics: Oryx - Scimitar, Fallow Deer, Red (Stag) Deer, Sika Deer, Corsican Sheep, Blackbuck Antelope, Aoudad (Barbary) Sheep, Axis Deer, Mouflan Ram, Kudu, Red Sheep, Ibex Goat

Wildlife Systems, Inc. offers a variety of exotic big game hunting opportunities on several properties in Texas. Due to our differing arrangements with various property owners, it is impossible to have a completely standardized price sheet that applies to all species on all properties. Thus the prices you see listed on this sheet apply to at least some of our properties, but not all properties. Feel free to inquire for further details.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Our centerpiece property, H. Yturria Ranches alone offers a great variety of exotic game, especially those species from the African Continent.  Some of the species and trophy fee prices you can find at H. Yturria include scimitar horned oryx ($2,000 male, $1,500 female), Kafue lechwe ($3,700), white-bearded gnu or wildebeest ($3,500), Grant's zebra ($3,200), gemsbok ($4,400), Beisa oryx ($2,500), and springbok ($3,900).  H. Yturria Ranches also has other species that are a bit more limited in numbers and harvest availability is either very limited or not on quota at this time, and these include impala, Thompson's gazelle, waterbuck, sable, roan sable, kudu, blackbuck, bontebuck, and addax ($3,900).

Our daily fees are $295 per hunter per day for 1x1 guide or $225 per day for 2x1 guide, which includes meals, lodging, guide, and game care, plus the cost of trophy fee based on what you take.  If you are on another hunt, such as a nilgai, turkey, or whitetail hunt, you can add on one of these exotics by simply paying the trophy fees, which saves you the cost of the daily fees.

On other properties, we also have various other exotic species such as axis deer, fallow deer, aoudad sheep, red sheep, pure mouflon sheep, Corsican sheep, elk, and others.  Let us know what you have in mind and we can likely accommodate you.

We do have a very intriguing multi-animal package on H. Yturria Ranches.  If you take any 3 of the following animals, we will offer a $500 per animal discount.  These include scimitar horned oryx, gemsbok, Beisa oryx, Kafue lechwe, and zebra.  Condition is that the 3 animals must be taken by the same hunter on same trip.  You will not find prices like this for quality animals on a large, quality property anywhere else in Texas.  This is a tremendous value on one of the finest exotic hunting properties in the state.

Wildlife Systems, Inc. - Mule Deer

Additional Information

Overview:

Mule deer hunting in Texas is one of the overlooked, best kept secrets in the mule deer hunting world.  Mule deer hunting represents a past-time that is still unspoiled and represents a wild part of our American hunting heritage steeped in western flavor.  Our mule deer hunts take place in a region where the subspecies of mule deer are considered desert mule deer (Odocoileus hemoinus crooki) and these deer are recognized by Safari Club International as their own category of deer.  Mature desert mule deer generally weigh 190-220 pounds on the hoof, sporting dichotomous forked 4x4 antlers with spreads typically ranging 22” – 27”, but wider spreads do occur.

Our desert mule deer hunts take place on large private ranches in the Trans Pecos region of far West Texas.  This is big ranch country, untamed and as pristine as it has principally been since the Comanche’s and Apaches ruled this region over two centuries ago.  Situated in the Chihuahuan Desert, this is amazing mule deer hunting country with topographical features ranging from expansive flats to undulating hills to rugged canyons and sheer, breathtaking bluffs.  Vegetative complex is classic desert mule deer habitat with brushy plants consisting predominantly of creosote, mesquite, acacia, various cacti, and other thorny shrubs in the flats.  Slopes and rough areas are comprised of pinon pine, juniper, oakbrush, madrone, mountain mahogany, and various other shrubs.  Mule deer hunting in this region is unique and fulfilling.

Hunted with greg 3 times over the years. Great outfitter, personal attention given, good staf and accomodations. West texas hunts were very good. Average deer was 110 to mid-high 120s. If you will wait on a big one, definitely get it; 130 plus are there. Shot 133 class and under, seen bigger, and been there when 150 class animal was taken. If you will wait anything is posssible. 8 points everywhere, hold off 10s 12s even bigger will come your way! Nice people, great atmosphere. Written by: Joe Hess, joehess2000@yahoo.com
