Search Results:Opinions needed for paid hog hunts - will be my first time to hunt ever.Summary:
does anyone have opinions of http://www.a-bhunting.com/ They are closer to DFW than my favorite 300yd gun range www.apgtraining.com (which has been sold). Positives -
Unknowns or negatives for me for first time hunt - I need to call first to confirm or get more info. MIGHT be a good first time place (whether I get something or not) just for a test run Again, I am new to all of this... am I on the right track in my data evaluation? Hog Hunting Questions (don't laugh!)Summary:
It is possible to do.....but the times I've seen it done was with dogsand after the dogs had the pig caught. From my experience in huntung them if you play the wind right and go at them slow and easy you could easily get close enough to throw the spear at a wild pig but I doubt you would be able to get close enough to just "spear" them unles they were cornered or caught already. All around good caliber...Summary:
I have to throw in my two cents and say all around caliber, .243 I have hunted with the same .243 riffle for 20 years and have taken 250 yard shots to 50 yard shots and it has dropped many deer in thier tracks, no problem or questions!!! I would also recomend the 7mm-08 for it's accuracy, my dad is almost blind and has taken long shots with accuracy and dropped his 350lb wild boar with the 7mm-08. But, if you want a classic good deer riffle and hog gun I would have to say 30-30 lever action!!! Opinions on pen-raised Pheasant.Summary:
Howdy! Seems like I have read that some other states do the same thing. There are many game bird farms here in Texas where you can hunt pen-raised pheasant, quail, and chukars. Whether or not pen-raised pheasants can legally be mixed into a wild population of pheasants in Texas, I do not know and is a question that TPWD could better answer. On the other hand, pen-raised birds usually do not live long in the wild. I have hunted pen-raised pheasants once and had a great time! A good topic of conversation that others should share their views as well! Take care!
Food PlotsSummary:
wheat grows well in west texas. doesnt take a lot of work to plant either. maze will grow but, will need water and will need to till the ground. would love to have a food plot on our lease, but we are dealing with wild destructive cows. if anyone knows how to keep a cow off a trail camera would really like to know. 2566 results found Next Page >Showing results 1 through 10
