After a while I would think that getting a '200" buck' would become more of a pocketbook exercise and lose the meaning (i.e. skill, persistence, uniqueness) of what it takes to truly find and shoot an animal like this in the wild.

William, you and I couldn't afford this buck!  I figure upwards of $10,000.

All this and more will be available at our August 13th banquet. For all of you who who not only love to hunt turkey, but deer and quail as well, the NWTF hold these banquets to help raise funds to improve habitat that benefits all wildlife. Over the next few years the NWTF along with TPWD will be re-stocking eastern wild turkey's in several counties and the proceeds raised will help fund such projects. You'll have a great time at the banquet and help to raise funds for a worthy cause. Also, for those locally who would like to get involved with our chapter we're always in need of some new people and would love to have ya. We are big on outreach and getting others into the outdoors...especially children, women, and wounded worriors.

Our chapter tries to plan several initiatives and hunts a year with partnering ranches and outfitters who support what we do. These include 2 youth hunts, and two committee hunts for the committee members from numerous NWTF chapters and those who are new to hunting. This deer season we hope to hold our first womens hunt. For anyone wanting to support what we do and help us put on some of these hunts in the future for youth, novice and committee members please message me.

The Wild Hog Roundup has gotten underway!! You can keep up to date by checking our scoreboard at http://www.wulfoutdoorsports.com/news_article/wild_hog_roundup_scoreboard/. We've had a good start with 11 of the 35 teams bringing in hogs giving us a total of 107 thus far. Currently the heaviest hog is still sitting at 225 lbs. You can still sign up and join in any day during the event. Everyday $500 dollars is going to the team that kills the most! Currently team Goat Hill Pig Stickers are in the lead for the $10,000 with 23 Hogs killed!

If you have questions feel free to ask and I'll reply as quickly as possible. 10,000 dollars goes to the top team at the end of the event who has killed the most hogs. Must have a valid Texas Hunting License, but you can kill them by any method you want. All winners will be put to a polygraph.

hey im a huge hunter from south dakota, i live on a farm and raise hogs....i was wondering if anyone had a spot that was overrun with wild hogs and would like them killed off....we dont need loding or food just a place to hunt and pitch our tents. we will be very respectfull to land owners and how they want us to dispose of the pigs. if you have a spot or know of a spot please contact me at jharms@nvc.net thanks!

My family and I have always enjoyed eating wild game including wild hog, always being cautious in preparation; proper temperature,cleanliness etc. Reading this article brings great concern, is it possible that I am putting my family in danger? What is Texas Parks and wildlife saying? Are there any other studies being done? I want more info.
