Summary:
Just returned home from my 2nd trip to the Edmund Tom Ranch. My son shot a trophy Javalina within 10 minutes of arrival. The next morning he shot a nice 8 point buck in the free roam area with an 18.5 inch outside spread. A full moon and fog slowed us down the next day and a half, but as soon as the weather cleared we got shots at wild hogs and a doe. We saw lots, I mean lots of game. If your thinking about a trip to south texas to hunt, then the Edmund Tom Ranch is the place to go. The people, accomodations, meals everything is just great. They are everything they say they are and more. I will surely be returning next year. If you have questions feel free to email me then I'll give you my phone number and we can talk. I can go on all day about hunting especially in Texas at the ETOM Ranch. Written by: Paul Siefke, paulsiefke@yahoo.com Wild Hog HuntSummary:
This guy is still at it years later... There are plenty of nice and honest places to hunt in Texas and Paul Candelaria's ranch is not one of them. All of the above are still true . He is a scam artist and will nickle and dime you to death or should I say $50 and $100 bill you to death. Don't fall for his low price promises it ends up being twice as much as any other hunt out there with all the very well hidden fees until you get to the ranch where they are all out in the open. Please send complaints you have about Paul to jessica_ivins@yahoo.com. I am going to do something about this, it's not about the money he took from me but for the principle of the matter. Hunting is a fun enjoyable activity and should not be tainted by scam artists. C.R. OutfittersSummary:
We hunted with the C.R. group last week and were quite impressed. One of my group memebers counted noumerous hogs at his stand on the first hunt. He was trophy hunting, and they were all in the 100lb range so he did not shoot. My hogs came out and 7 of them ran in a circle around the feeder and took off. These guys do try real hard to make there hunters welcome. The morning hunts were very slow, but the afternoon and nights were VERY busy. I would suggest anyone else to do the overnight hunts. Im jsut too old to do it. We drove in from montana, arriving a day early and had a good meal. Anyone looking to go out and just slaughter hogs should not go on this hunt. If you want a real hunt, with plenty of WILD hogs, then this is it. We did not hunt the high fence, I dont believe in it. But left happy. Thanks guys 4 stars out of 5. Wing & Clay Shooting Sports

Sportsman, Joe has helped me train my young german shorthaired pointer and turned him into a fine young dog. For the first time we are pointing wild birds. His treatment, attitude, and patience with these dogs is commendable. He has also tought me how to properly shoot and correct myself in the field. We plan on continuing our instruction with Joe in the future. I could not recoomend a better trainer and instructor. Thanks, Ben White, Austin Texas

Summary:
We have another succsessful hunter out here this weekend. Kurt got a nice 8 pt, this afternoon and just like Colby last weekend, he did it in less than 1/2 hour! Congratulations Kurt on your first kill! I will try and get pics of him from the processor before he goes to the taxidermist. Speaking of processors, I have to put in a good word for Gary Hendrix and his "Wild Thing" at Oh! Deer Processing in Abilene, TX. If you are in the area and require processing, go see Gary. His facilities are immaculant and from what I am hearing, the "Wild Thing" really does a fantastic job. He is running a special right now, $125.00 for processing plus sausage, breakfast sausage and jerky. Check him out, you won't be dissapointed! no guide
