Search Results:Last Day of Season
Summary:
Shot this nice little 7pt on the last day of General season in West Texas. That is my 29YO Rem. 700 .270 that has served me well all these years. Had to sneak through the mesquites to get a shot since the deer were already in the field. Had to move a couple of times to get into good position, had to do the old man thing and go pee, then I finally got everything just right and made about a 180 yd. shot. Just love to hear that BOOM....THUD....he was DRT. Special Season Bowkill
Summary:
Killed the doe next to a West Texas wheat field that is just overrun with deer. Killed a buck and a large doe with my .270 so decided to pick up the bow again. Shot this doe from the stand behind me, blacked out the windwos with black curtains donated by my sweet little Wife. Will be trying to kill two more doe with the bow and donate to the "Hunters for the Hungry". DANGER...RATTLER
Summary:
This is another species of rattlers found in West Texas. I looked it up in the Poisonous Snakes of Texas and it is called a Massauga (hope I spelled it right). It is not a diamond back, notice the squareish rectangular shape. These are the worse kind because they very seldom develop many buttons and even when they do, they really don't sound like the diamondbacks. This one was right beside our steps going into the cabin. When I stepped out, I heard what sounded like a bee or a wasp buzzing. These very seldom get bigger than 24" and this one was right at that mark, but they do get wide in girth. They are very well camoed so they blend in with the ground and are very hard to see. Beware that they are out there. 321 results found Next Page >Showing results 1 through 10
