I hunted near Alamagardo one year, and I was also supprised at not just seeing turkey, but at the number of turkey that we saw. I'm from West Texas and I never thought about seeing turkey in the mountains, and certainly not in snow at an elevation of 7-9000 ft. But there were a lot of them.

CAN ANYONE PLEASE TELL ME WHEN THE VIDEO PROBLEMS WILL BE CORRECTED? I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO ACCESS IN 2 MONTHS. BEFORE THEN I HAD NO PROBLEMS. I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THIS VIDEO, BUT OUT IN WEST TEXAS (MIDLAND) WHERE I AM FROM, WE HAVE A PROGRAM FOR DISABLED VETS TO PROVIDE THEM WITH A GREAT HUNTING EXPERIENCE. THIS PROGRAM WENT OVER SO WELL THAT THE ENTIRE AREA OF RESIDENTS,MERCHANTS AND RANCHERS HAVE COME TOGETHER TO PROVIDE THE HUNTERS WITH A GREAT TIME AT NO EXPENCE TO THEMSELVES. EVERYTHING IS PROVIDED, TRANSPORT,LODGING,FOOD,FREE HUNTING RANCHES, AND WEAPONS(IF NEEDED) ALL DONATES AT NO EXPENCE TO ANYONE. THESE SOLDIERS DESERVE OUR HEART FELT THANKS AND OUR TEXAS HOSPALITY IS IN FULL SWING. WE COULD USE ALL OF THE SUPPORT FOR THIS PROGRAM THAT WE CAN GET. SO FAR OUR RESOURCES HAVE BEEN GOOD BUT WE CAN ONLY ACCOMIDATE SO MANY HUNTERS. WE HOPE TO CONTINUE TO GROW TO PROVIDE ROOM FOR MORE WOUNDED VETS TO BE ABLE TO HAVE A GOOD HUNT. If you go west from San Angelo (or most any direction) turkey will use th high double pole transmission lines to roost on. Out west there are not many tall trees for them to roost on.
