Search Results:WSI - Kennedy Ranch
Summary: WSI has a mule deer season lease available near Fort Stockton. The 68,000 acre Kennedy Ranch is located some 20 miles west of Fort Stockton and is available for a group of 8 hunters. We are not interested in selling individual spots, but only interested in making arrangements with one group for the whole deal. Hunters will have access during the entire 16 day mule deer season and will be allowed to each harvest one mature mule deer buck.
No housing is available but there is a campsite that provides electric and water, or hotel arrangements are available 20 minutes away. Terrain is flat to undulating hills with flora typical of the Chihuahuan Desert which lies in this region. We are interested in a group of conservation minded hunters who would like to help manage this herd through selective harvest. We would also like to encourage a feeding program. This is a great opportunity for a group who enjoys plenty of breathing space and a chance to hunt quality desert mule deer. Price is $2,700 per gun, but remember, we want one group to take all 8 spots. Trans-Pecos Guide Service
Summary:
Trans-Pecos Guide Service was established in 1983 to provide exclusive hunting opportunities for desert mule deer, whitetail, and javelina in West Texas. Since our inception our goal was to always provide the finest hunting opportunities to our clients that chose to hunt this unique region of the State. No other ecological region in the state of Texas can compare with the diversity and abundance of free-ranging native game that flourishes in the Trans-Pecos region. In addition to our desert mule deer and whitetail hunts we can now offer limited hunts for desert bighorn sheep, elk, antelope and quail. Trans-Pecos Wildlife Services evolved from our involvement with the State of Texas in the management of our wildlife resources. We have now streamlined our operation to devote more time toward the management of our wildlife in order to provide not only exceptional hunter success but opportunities for trophy quality that exceed regional benchmarks for trophy excellence! All of our ranches are actively involved with the Sate of Texas in the Managed Lands Deer Permit (MLDP) program. This affords our clients opportunities to hunt recognized ranches that are actively engaged in habitat preservation, enhancement, and stringent wildlife management practices. Our intensely managed properties have ensured exceptional hunter success for mature desert mule deer, whitetail and antelope. Each year several of our hunters are recognized through the Texas Big Game Awards program, which awards certificates of recognition for harvested deer that exceed the regional benchmark for trophy excellence. All of our ranches are low-fenced and all game is 100% free-ranging on native rangeland. B & C Tropohy Whitetail Hunts - Terrell CountySummary: Thanks for your interest in exploring a hunting opportunity with B&C Trophy Hunts. Over the last 30 years, I have hunted quality white-tailed deer, Rio Grande wild turkey, javelina, mule deer, quail, and dove throughout the Trans-Pecos region of Texas. Over the last 10 years, I have been the proprietor of B&C Trophy Hunts and have developed a great hunt package experienced by both Texas hunters and those from other states. Below, you can find more detail on what B&C Trophy Hunts has for you. We cater to both seasoned hunters as well as novices.
The Mitchell Ranch is Terrell County, Texas in the southwestern portion of the state called the Trans-Pecos region. The terrain is rugged canyon country and during deer season, temperature can range from 15 degrees to 85 degrees. The ranch is about 200 miles west of San Antonio, just south of Interstate Hwy. I-10. The property is accessible by highway and all-weather roads. I have set up guidelines that I incorporate into an overall wildlife management prescription for the ranch. I work with two people in the wildlife profession, Dr. Jim Cathey (a former Texas Parks and Wildlife Biologist and now an Assistant Professor with Texas A&M University) and Dr. Andrew DeWoody (an Assistant Professor of Fisheries and Wildlife Genetics at Purdue University), to help map out appropriate management strategies for the ranch. There is a minimal amount of livestock on the ranch reducing forage competition for wildlife. A strict rotational grazing system is in place to further enhance range conditions. A managed harvest and year around feeding plan has greatly enhanced both the quality and numbers of trophy deer on the ranch. Our hunts consist of blind hunting near feeder locations, spot and stalk hunts, safari style hunts, and rattling during the rut. The opportunities for taking a trophy whitetail are very good. Our success rate for the past six years has been near 100%. The only hunters that have not taken good bucks are the ones that were holding out for an exceptional trophy, to better their personal best. The success rate on turkeys has been good. The terrain is very rocky, and there is an abundance of catclaw, prickly pear, yucca, soto, and other desert plants. The steep canyons can often be “rocked”, and deer are often scouted from a vehicle. Archers are welcome! The hunting opportunities on the ranch now consist of trophy Whitetail deer, Javelina, and Rio Grande Turkey. Our hunts are 4-day guided hunts with meals, lodging, and transportation on the ranch furnished. Our guides handle the field dressing and basic processing of the game. We will provide pickup at a regional airport (Midland-Odessa, MAF) and transportation to/from the ranch. Lodging is clean, comfortable, and warm. If needed, air conditioning is available in the bunkhouse. We have an excellent cook, who prepares a variety of meals that our hunters always enjoy. Camp rules and regulations: No drunks. Firearm safety is taken very seriously—no loaded guns in camp. Over 20,000 acres of wildlife habitat! Hunters routinely have shots at over a dozen different bucks during the course of a 4-day hunt.
