I remember back in the early 70's in West Texas, we lost a lot of ranch land to fires. Don't remember the acreage, but some were the result of careless smokers, but the highway patrol caught some High School kids with gas filled coke bottles in their pickup and they admitted to setting several fires that burned a lot of acreage south of San Angelo. The J-5 Ranch in George West, huge Whitetails, turkey and AxisSummary:
Daniel, I don't really think that Trace mean't any disrespect. I for one can understand very well the quote "as much as this hunter could afford". That within it's self is one of the reasons this hunter will never try that kind of hunt. I for one do not consider it "HUNTING" when I set in a blind with a "guide" and have to wait for him to tell me how much this deer will cost me, so I can deside if I want to let the house and pickup payments slide to take this or that deer. Seems to me this would be like dealing with a SHIFTY USED CAR SALESMAN. Just not my cup of tea, sorry man. However as I have said before-------to each his own. Crazy?Summary:
I spent many years looking far a good sized lease in West Texas and finally found one. As with you money was the main factor. As with most everyone else, I work for a living and money is hard to come by. I wanted to spend about $1,000.00. The only reason I took the lease was Dad wanted to hunt and my wife could go at no extra cost. We pay $2,000.00 yr round w/10 hunters on 4,200 acres all great guys and good hunting. We have been there 4 yrs now. So I can't say you will not find a place for the amount you want to spend, but it will be very hard to do as "ol mr. deep pocketts" is allways looking to get your lease from you, have had this happen more than once. Good luck Coyote Goat-Roping in My Back Yard
Summary:
I was born and raised in West Texas and am an avid hunter. I now live in the Dallas area and have been here for the last 12yrs. These critters as a rule do not act like your dog and they will eat him. That said, the rule usually is, if a wild animal acts "FUNNY" something is wrong with it. If so the animal can be a danger to you and anyone else, especially the 5 yr old who wants to pet the "doggy". The solution is simple--even with your restrictions--22 behind the ear. Ware disposible gloves and a good trash bag loose evidence. Remember the ol' timers moto--one shot and they will listen--2 shots and they know where you are. 99 results found Next Page >Showing results 1 through 10
