Located in the hills of Irion County west of San Angelo, Texas, our ranch is 10,000 acres of some of the best whitetail habitat in West Texas.  With over 10 years of intense deer management, we grow big bucks and we have the trophies to prove it.

The hunting opportunity by Blackjack Outfitters is a long term year round hunting lease.  We don’t offer book hunts.  Instead , we cater to the hunter that likes to bust some brush and hunt old mossy back under his own terms.

The deer herd has been on a protein program for eight years.  With one feeder every 500 acres, we feed unlimited protein from February through August each year. From September through January, corn replaces the protein.

The main headquarters of the ranch is located one mile off a paved making it accessible in any weather.  The ranch offers three houses capable of sleeping 24 people comfortably and features all the modern conveniences.  Weekly maid service and all linens are provided.  The kitchens in each facility are completely stocked with dishes, utensils and cooking supplies.   We have washers, dryers, refrigerators, and freezers that round out all the comforts of home. 

 There is a walk-in cooler for storing your deer, a processing facility, archery range, gun range, and outdoor fire ring for unwinding after a big day of hunting.

The Kent Creek Ranch is located north and west of Leakey, Texas, and less than two hours from San Antonio.  The whitetail hunting on this ranch is part of a Texas Parks and Wildlife’s Managed Land Deer Program, which allows us to hunt whitetails from October 2nd through February 28th.  Because of the strict management practices that have been implemented on this ranch, having the opportunity to harvest a quality Texas Hill Country buck is assured.

Our accommodations are excellent on this ranch, and we welcome hunters both with gun and bow.  The majority of the hunting is done from blinds, however, stalking is also a possibility, especially when hunting some of the tremendous exotics that also call this ranch home.  No  where in Texas will you find a higher quality Axis Deer herd than here at Kent Creek.  Axis, Sika, Fallow, Blackbuck, Wild Hogs, Mouflon and Corsican rams are all available to our hunters for just a harvest fee while they are on our whitetail hunt.

Our West Texas Whitetail ranches are located in Pecos and Terrell Counties (approximately mid-way between San Antonio and El Paso) and are nestled at the foothills of the Glass Mountains.  With approximately 100,000 acres of hunting land, we boast a tremendous population of Whitetail.  This area of Texas is definitely animal rich!

Regardless of where you are in West Texas, the free-ranging/low fenced Whitetail will average in score between 120 and 140, although many larger ones may be harvested. Our success rate has been an incredible 100% since 1996!  By game managing our deer we are able to produce quality hunts year and year.   We NEVER charge a trophy fee – whether he scores 102 or 202 the price doesn’t change!

All of our packages include meals, lodging (we have lodging on all three of the ranches), 4 full days of hunting, either fully or semi-guided (there is no extra charge for 1x1, nor do we charge a "rental fee" for stand or equipment useage!), care of game, mount preparation and delivery to our local taxidermist. If you want your taxidermist to mount your animal then you will need to make arrangements prior to your departure to have it shipped to yourself if you are flying.

There are few things better than a spring Wild Turkey Hunt in the Rolling plains of West Texas. The feel of spring shedding off its cold winter coat, and wildflowers abounding in every field. Did I mention the heart pounding action of two Rio Grande turkeys fighting for territory and mating rights?

Texas is home to over 600,000 Rio Grande turkeys and Ranger Creek Ranch holds an abundance of these animals. In return, we have a high success rate and liberal bag limits with a lengthy spring Wild Turkey Hunting season.

We recommend 10 or 12 gauge shotguns with full chokes and either 4's, 5's or 6 shot. Full camo, facemask, light jacket, binoculars, quiet boots, rain gear, camera, ice chest, several different turkey calls, flashlight, toiletries and hunting license when on Wild Turkey Hunts. Bows equipped with special turkey broadheads are fine

Guided Turkey Hunts consist of going out in the morning after a continental breakfast, hunting where the birds roosted the night before or in an area of a roost. After the hunt you will come back to the lodge for either a country brunch or lunch, rest and then back out for an afternoon hunt until the birds go to roost.

Self Guided Turkey Hunts: When you arrive we will take you out and show you the hunting areas and go over hunting and meal schedules.

Exotics hunts can be conducted year round and we have access to 50 plus species from all over the world. Many of these species can no longer be hunted in their native countries and Texas animals have been sent back for restocking efforts. PBGSO has access to over 20 of the finest exotic hunting ranches in Texas. We offer exotics such as Axis, Black Buck, Fallow, Sika, bison, elk, nilgai, and Aoudad free ranging for those of you that do not wish to hunt in a high fence. However all of the high fenced ranches we hunt are sizable averaging about 2000 acres. If you are under the impression exotic hunts are canned hunts this is not the case or at least not with PBGSO. Exotic hunts are very challenging and every hunt we offer is fair chase.

Exotic hunts are always conducted in the manner you choose. Spot and stalk, safari style, glassing, still hunting, and blind hunting are the most common methods. We allow you to use rifle, pistol, muzzle loader, or archery equipment. PBGSO can put you on top notch exotics that will most likely score very well in the record books. Most of these exotic hunts are conducted in the Hill Country region of Texas: Kerrville, Junction, Rock Springs, Fredericksburg, Blanco, and Uvalde areas.  Most exotics harvested are in the upper end of the trophy category, Gold medal type at no additional charge. PBGSO will work very hard to get you the exotic of a lifetime.

Exotic Doe or Meat Hunts
We will be offering a small number of exotic meat hunts per year in the spring, summer, and fall. Most common exotic does are available free range if you do not wish to hunt inside a high fence. We require a minimum of 2 hunters for 2 days on this hunt and larger groups are recommended. We have a 100% success rate on exotic meat hunts.

West Texas Free Range Bison Hunt
This free range bison hunt will be conducted as a regular exotic hunt.  We require at least 2 days of hunting for this hunt. Sometimes we have specials which can reduce the cost of this hunt and group discounts are always available. We require a deposit of your daily rates to reserve dates. Our free range bison ranches are 10,000+ acres.

West Texas Free Range Aoudad Hunt
We will be offering 10-15 free range Aoudad hunts per year in the mountains of West Texas.  On this hunt you can harvest 1 mature aoudad ram. The aoudad we have harvested on these hunts have ranged in size from 28-36 inches. We require a 50% deposit to book dates in advance. As stated we only offer a small number of these hunts each year so it is recommended to book well in advance.

South Texas Free Range Nilgai Hunt
