The weather and the fishing in the Texas Hill Country has really started to heat up. The Guad. continues to fish well, despite low water conditions and rising water temps. Good daily hatches of bwo's, tricos, and caddis have spurred some great trout fishing. Fish are condensed in deeper pools and fast flowing riffles. Nymphing and streamer fishing have been the two most consistent methods over the past few weeks. ____________ Daily Bag Limit on Speckled Trout Changing?Summary:
I think only good things can come from this, the numbers show that trout are very delicate fish and they need to be protected for the future of the fishery on the Gulf Coast. It is my oponion that in the long run, lowering the limit is going to positiviely impact fishing for "All" to enjoy!!! Where is a Good Spot to fish in Galveston or Freeport??Summary:
I like to go a little bit more east or west from 61st. Be there at first light. I chunk artificials only and do well. The trout maybe on the bottom or the top. I like topwaters and plastics. I start at arount 45th and go all the way to the south jetty. I will wade or walk the rocks. Going west I wade fish from the end of the seawall westward. Fish the guts. The 1st one right on the beach is good at daylight on a high tide. Top water will get you some blow-ups so you know fish are in the area. They may like them very slow to very fast. Keep plugging away at it.Good luck. Lures don't give you the hassle keeping bait alive does. Galveston FishingSummary:
Galveston visitors can enjoy many types of fishing, but please obtain a Texas fishing license required by law for all fishermen ages 17-65, plus a 3-day salt-water sport-fishing license if applicable. You can purchase a license from the Galveston County Courthouse, and at many area sporting-goods stores, convenience stores, tackle shops and bait camps. Fishing enthusiasts can fish free of charge in Galveston off the rock groins or breakwaters along the Seawall for Flounder, Speckled Trout, Sheepshead, Sand Trout, Bull Reds and Gafftop Sail.
