Summary:
Got these photos in an email today. Here's the story that goes along with them. "Had one of the best days of my life. After work I went to my parents house for some fishing off their dock (5 ac private lake) w/ my dad and girlfriend. We caught 8-10 small bass and were getting cold from the strong winds. About 6:15 I hooked the biggest bass of my life w/ my dad right there next to me. I could tell it was big but didn't freak out until it was about 20 ft from the dock. It weighed in just over 7 lbs on my scale and measured 23". I'm not a big time fisherman and normally take guided trips (don't own a rod and reel worth more than $30) so this was a trophy by my standards." Great fishing strory and GREAT looking bass! Peacock Bass
Summary:
I have always wanted to go fish for Peacock Bass in the Amazon. Well I am down in Panama on some business and I had an opporunity to take a trip down the Panama Canal and then off the beaten path for some very fun and exciting Peacock Bass Fishing. I learned that there are two different species. Three Stripes and Five Stripes. The three stripe live in the Amazon and get 20+ pounds. The species in Panama are 5 stripe and they only get 5-6 pounds. 7 pounds is a real trophy. We have a great time none the less. This is myself and my safety director. We caught about 50 fish in about about 1 1/2 hours. After we finished fishing, they filleted everythign out and a local establishment cooked them up for us. A very great experience. 10 results foundShowing results 1 through 10
