USA: Archers take aim in Hoyt Pro/Am Tour

Summary:

More than 1,250 archers competed in 31 categories during the Hoyt Pro/Am Tour Friday through Sunday at Uchee Creek for prizes totaling $100,000.  Archers shot 40 targets. The 3-D foam targets included antelopes, deer, boars and wolves. The archers shot at known and unknown distances during the event.

Toyota Texas Bass Classic Returns to Lake Conroe October 1 – 3

Summary:

The Toyota Texas Bass Classic (TTBC) will return to Lake Conroe in 2010. The tournament received tremendous support in its first year on the Houston-area lake and will be held for the second time October 1 – 3. Ticketed activities for fans, including concerts, weigh-ins and expo areas, will take place October 2 and 3 at the Lone Star Convention & Expo Center. The event benefits the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) and its outdoor recreation programs. 

Culbertson and Davis score the first win for Bass Champs North Region at Lake Fork

Summary:

After the original kick off for the North Region had to be postponed due to dangerous winter weather, things got back on track March 13 as 471 teamed competitors merged on Lake Fork. This was the highest participation in the north region since 2005.

March 6, 2010 marked the second event in the 2010 season for Bass Champs Central Region anglers. 180 teams converged on Lake Travis competing for a 102% payback in cash and prizes for this event. Jarrell, Texas anglers Landon Glass and Jayson Kisselburg brought in the sack that towered above the rest, winning by a 6 pound margin to claim over $20,000 in prize money.

Doggedly Determined Communication Worker Hunts Stealthy Texas Whitetail on Escape to the Wild

Summary:

When Alica Posey of Communication Workers Local 3802 harvested her first whitetail buck a few years ago, all she could do was yell “big, big, big” into her two-way radio.  Though hunting is part of everyday life in her Alabama community, 43-year-old Posey has only been hunting for the past six years. This season took her to South Texas for an Escape to the Wild whitetail hunt where the landscape is brutal and “there’s nothing that won’t stick you or bite you in some form or fashion.”

Team Harvey blows past the pack to win Bass Champs on Sam Rayburn

Chris and Rusty Harvey stole the show with a 1st place win weighing 28.68 lbs February 27, 2010.  Bass Champs East Region had their second event of five in the season at the Umphrey Family Pavilion seeing 269 teamed contenders.
