The Texas Wildlife Association has joined a dozen other natural resource and landowner groups in Texas in authoring and distributing an op-ed piece outlining support for Senate Bill 332 and groundwater ownership.

TWA is actively working several bills in the Texas Legislature relating to deer, deer management permits, and the deer breeding industry.

SB 332 by Sen. Troy Fraser reaffirms that landowners have a vested ownership interest in groundwater below the surface and acknowledges the current authority of groundwater conservation districts.  TWA strongly supports SB 322, and the issue is a priority legislative goal of the organization.

This past weekend was the Texas Youth Hunting Program’s (TYHP) largest single weekend, which coincided with the state’s January Youth Only Hunting Season. TYHP conducted 10 hunts around the state that included camping in the Panhandle. These hunts accommodated some 175 hunters, along with numerous siblings and family members.

The Texas Wildlife Association has established its legislative priorities for the 82nd Legislature. The list, approved by the TWA Executive Committee, provides the organization direction on the legislative priorities it seeks to accomplish this session.
