Lamar University Wins College Fishing South Conference Event

Lamar University's Danny Iles, Hemphill, Texas, and Justin Royal, Vidor, Texas won the National Guard FLW College Fishing South Conference event on Lake Amistad Saturday with five bass weighing 21 pounds, 11 ounces. The victory earned the team $5,000. The win also helped them advance to the South Conference Regional Championship.

National Guard FLW College Fishing is headed to Lake Amistad Feb. 4 for the first of four stops in the South Conference. Forty college teams will be competing for a top award of $5,000 and a berth in the South Regional Championship tournament.
