After the original kick off for the North Region had to be postponed due to dangerous winter weather, things got back on track March 13 as 471 teamed competitors merged on Lake Fork. This was the highest participation in the north region since 2005.

When Alica Posey of Communication Workers Local 3802 harvested her first whitetail buck a few years ago, all she could do was yell “big, big, big” into her two-way radio.  Though hunting is part of everyday life in her Alabama community, 43-year-old Posey has only been hunting for the past six years. This season took her to South Texas for an Escape to the Wild whitetail hunt where the landscape is brutal and “there’s nothing that won’t stick you or bite you in some form or fashion.”

Who would have ever thought that four pounds would catch a check in a Bass Champs tournament? Well, it happened on Belton Lake February 6, 2010! High water, cold temps and elusive bass challenged 200 Central Region teams vying for more than $50,000 up for grabs.
