First bow kill

First bow kill
Summary:

It was my second year at the refuge. I was hoping to shoot something this year and not miss like last year.It was almost time to head home. I was getting worried that i was not going to shot something this year to. I had just started to pick up my things when i felt something was staring at me. I turned around and there it was standing and staring at me. It was 8 yards away from me. I got my bow and drew. It started to walk in the woods so i made a noise and it stopped. pufff!!!! my arrow was off. it was a double lung shot. It took off and fell 20 yards from where i shot it. It was one of the best days of my life.

Summary:

Man I never hear anyone say "WOW that buck is ready to shoot". I'd bet 90% of the people on this site would shoot that deer if it walked past them. It is hard to tell everything from the picture, but I don't think he's a young deer, he's not an OLD deer either. Whether you shoot depends on a lot of things. Are you on a high fence property full of monsters, or is he free range?

a buck i shot with my bow

a buck i shot with my bow
Summary:

One thing for sure.....most folks wouldn't have the backbone to even post these pictures!! Kudos to that!!! Shows he's human. If you hunt long enough, bow or gun, you will miss a shot.  It is obvious that HaydenWall hunts some kind of big ranch by the pictures he posts, but that doesn't mean he can't shoot a "management" meat deer if the owner allows it. All of the "ANTLER NAZI's" on this site need to ease up on folks that like to eat and don't have the means to spend thousands on "deer farm" hunts and deer leases. We just like to hunt and enjoy eating what we are blessed with taking from our hunts!!! Good Post young man!!
