I live on Conroe. We use cut perch or shad. I prefer rod and reel but when I need a mess I will jug. There is nothing like catching these on a rod and reel. You may wait a while to get a big one to bite. I know from previous years of posting you do a little catfishing after deer season. I like shallow windy banks. Just so you don't get too concerned, the bones in the fish I catch are too big to choke on. fishing lake whitneySummary:
your best bet for catfish is under the striper, i dint catfish but a friend of mine is a striper guide i have seen them catch huge catfish by drifting cut shad underneath the striper. as for as the smaller fish this time of year i catch a lot of them on the bluffs when i am bass fishing. they mouth of the river is where my buddy is fishing right now,and the flats on the south side of the bridge. good luck claveras or browning lakeSummary:
I like fishing Calaveras more then Browning Lake for catfish, you can catch good numbers quickly with shrimp or chicken liver, cut bait. To go after the big Reds you need good fresh live shad, look for points that extend out. At Browning lake there is a good bank spot that is a point on the south shore and you have to get there early in the AM to fish that spot because there are always someone there fishing. Good luck and post up any pics of you have any luck. There are some good cheap fishing guides also that will take you out in the boat with bait and rigs for about 50 dollars for half day and 100 for full day that catch alot of good Reds and Hybird Bass!!! Deer season is on, is anyone goin after catfish?Summary:
Killin the blues right now on the warmer windy days when they have the shad pushed up to the surface in 10 ft. or less. Most fish are 3-5 pound average. Fishing Conroe in the late AM. This is the best time for the blues. I love this time of year. I will be going after crappie here soon too. 782 results found Next Page >Showing results 1 through 10
