Search Results:Saskatchewan 10 point with Buckmasters Jackie Bushman
Summary:
I live in Ontario. I have been following a deer in my hunting area for the last 6 years that is smaller than this buck. He was a small 10 point then and is no bigger now, 6 seasons later. I have a feeling that although you may think this is a young deer, it may not be. Antler size varies dramatically depending on where you are and the feed the deer have. In my case, the deer are not fed anything including supplements and there is limited farmers fields so they are eating leaves and bushes and berries. Typical faw buck antlers are less than 1 inch during hunting season. The second year they are still spikes and only 3 inches tall. Forks are 3 & 4 year old deer. My hunting partner and I have followed individual does and there fawns for 7 years now and the oldest of first fawns are only 6 points max. I have also lived and hunted in Alberta and there too the antler size varies. If you get out of the fields an into the mountains the antler size drops dramatically. Just a thought. steven
